Auditions Membership in Amherst Bel Canto is open to the community through auditions, which are held in May and occasionally throughout the year if openings become available.

Q: WHY AUDITION?
A: Each chorister must re-audition each year. In this way the correct part, and the correct choir can be assigned. The attitude, participation, attendance and ability to be a contributing memberof the choir are important characteristics to be considered.
Q: WHO CAN AUDITION?
A: We have attracted our fine singers in many ways!:
1. Some of our best choristers come from other chorister’s recommendations. Bel Canto members are wonderful recruiters, and each chorister will receive information which they may pass to interested and talented singers.
2. Many of our choristers have been recommended by their music teachers.
3. Some of our choristers found our web-site and chose to audition as a result of their research!
4. Our open rehearsals should be attended by all present members, so that potential new choristers will have a sense of the Bel Canto Sound!
